License Requirements
We have separated license requirements by species hunted:
DEER/TURKEY
ALL deer and turkey hunters need a big game permit for 1 day of hunting or for the entire season. Non-resident big game permits are $100 and are valid from the date of purchase until June 30 of the following year. In addition to the big game permit, non-residents will also need a small game hunting license which is valid for three (3) consecutive days ($40), ten (10) consecutive days ($75), or the entire season ($125).
Antlerless (doe) tags will be provided, so there is no need to purchase additional tags. Turkey tags should be ordered with your license. The turkey tags will be mailed to you in the spring. Please don't forget to bring them as only one set of tags can be issued per hunter. If you forget to order them, we have turkey tags available.
HOG ONLY
A big game permit is NOT necessary for hog hunting in South Carolina. Hog hunters only need a small game hunting license. Please refer to the options above for duration and fees.
ALLIGATOR
A big game permit is NOT necessary for alligator hunting in South Carolina. Resident and non-resident alligator hunters need a small game hunting license for the duration of their hunt. ALL participating non-resident hunters also need an additional $200 alligator hunting license. If you were drawn for an alligator tag, please remember to bring the tag and permit. They will need to be in your possession while we are hunting. We will provide the private lands tag and permit.
All resident and nonresident hunters born after June 30, 1979 must have successfully completed a hunter education program and provide their hunter education certificate and ID #. For your convenience, we are a state certified hunter education test site. This means your young hunter can take the hunter education test and receive their certification at Red Bluff, regardless of your resident state.
